Development

A gathering in a vibrant cultural setting

Begihandi is usually held in bars, pubs, cultural centres and other venues with their own programme of events, integrating the event into existing schedules.

Short, accessible talks

Three local figures (professionals from the fields of design, illustration, photography, the performing arts, music, desktop publishing, communication, etc.) share first-hand accounts of how they work: processes, motivations, influences, failures and lessons learnt.

Conversation and community

Following the talks, there is a space for questions and dialogue, which often continues spontaneously over a few beers. This social dimension is an essential part of the project: Begihandi, as well as being a series of talks, is also an excuse to meet up, get to know one another and build community.

Begihandi is an initiative by EIDE, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering and promoting design and creative culture in the region.

The project is made possible thanks to the collaboration of professionals from the fields of design and other creative sectors (who participate as speakers), cultural venues, bars and pubs (which host the various events), organisations, institutions and festivals (which support and enrich the programme), and volunteers from the association (who organise it):

  • Ales Landeta (Bizkaia)
  • Eneko Muruzabal (Gipuzkoa)
  • Estibaliz Legarreta (Iparralde)
  • Lander Balza (Araba)
  • Marta Bariáin (Navarre)
